Living Room Reveal: Ferree Street Project Part Two

Continuing with the reveal of our charming Squirrel Hill project renovation, we are pleased to share the front living room space located just off the entryway. Fun fact about this space, we used all of the homeowners existing furnishings to style this room. We pulled furniture, art, lighting, and books from all over their home (hello basement jackpot!). Our clients have great style and we found so many hidden gems to incorporate. Shopping other areas of your home is an expensive way to pull existing pieces together and showcase them in new ways. We also brought in a new area rug, installed a new ceiling light and gave the exterior of their fireplace a facelift to create a cohesive flow with the other spaces that were renovated throughout the first floor.

As we shared in our post yesterday regarding the entryway makeover, we continued the fresh coat of paint into this room as well. In addition to the walls and ceiling, we decided to include some of the OG woodworking in the paint scope. This included the wood built-in's surrounding the fireplace. We had the baseboards, interior door trims and built-in's painted a perfect shade of greige to breathe new life into the space. However, we didn't dare touch the gorgeous brass hardware on the built-in drawers. These are original to the home and well, some details just need to be left untouched.

There are plenty more spaces to reveal from our Ferree Street Project, including a casual living/dining space. This open concept area is located just off our client's brand new kitchen. Another fun fact. The kitchen was designed by our design bestie, Katy Popple Design. That's right. Our Ferree Street Project was the first design collaboration executed by CMH + KPD. CMH handled all the paint selections, furnishings and interior styling while KPD focused on the kitchen and deck designs. We invite you to follow KPD on Instagram for space reveals on the latter.
