It's hard to believe that after months of construction at our Wilmar Drive Project, the time has come to share it with all of you. We couldn't be more thrilled to reveal this home, introduce the amazing tradesman and vendors behind the project, and chat all the fun details! We're kicking off the reveal with three spaces on the main floor: The Kitchen, Pantry + Dining Room
The home itself, built in 1960, is an all brick colonial that required an extensive renovation to meet the needs of the new homeowners. The existing kitchen was a complete gut and reconfiguration. Originally running the length of the home from front to back, the kitchen now takes up a portion of the back half of the home, with a separate pantry added to accomodate additional storage.
The walls between the existing kitchen and dining room were removed to create an open sightline between spaces. It also created a better flow for entertainment purposes. Instead of a formal dining room, our clients opted for a more casual dining space with the creation of both a built-in banquette and a kid-friendly corner for eating and playing.
Wanting to add a fresh, modern touch but still honor the traditional aesthetic of the existing home, we used a timeless color palette, selected classic finishes and added in architectural details to make the home feel brand new. Natural materials such as rattan and reclaimed wood were sourced to add texture and warmth to the spaces. Finally, pops of color were added in the styling accessories and artwork to show off the sweet and fun personality of our amazing clients.
We're revealing our Wilmar Drive Project all week. Tune in tomorrow as we share Part Two: The Living Room + Entryway.
